- In 1984 Barb Kauffman was a successful communications specialist for a major marketing firm dealing with Fortune 500 companies in the Mid-Atlantic region. She found herself being forced to turn away the small businesses who came to her for help – this company had no time for them.

- Barb, always a maverick, saw a niche. She was determined to create a company that combined the savvy of the mega public relations firms with the integrity and warm personal service of a small town shop. In 1985 she left to start Kauffman Creative Services and has never looked back. In 2001 Barb was honored to receive Pennsylvania's Best 50 Women in Business award in cooperation with the six Business Journals across the Commonwealth.
- Today her award winning firm represents a varied clientele from a struggling local actress to major banking Institutions.
